Sierra 20 cal 36 gr

Maybe a little late to the party as I just seen recently that Sierra has 36gr 20 caliber projectiles. I have been using the 32gr vmax or sbk for years and liked them. I noticed a decent difference in BC. I was always wanting to try the 35gr Bergers but never felt they were worth the extra costs. I would run them in a 204 and Vartarg. Who’s running them and do you like them more compared to the 32gr bullets?

Alberta....I'm not running the 36gr yet, but intend to, also in my 20VT and 204's. The allure of them is a bit better BC, they'll hit harder than the 32's and buck the wind a tad better too.

The only problem I have with Sierra varmint bullets is purely cost compared to all the others for shooting colony rodents and chucks. When out for a week+ shooting hundreds of rounds, cost starts to make a difference. But I'll freely admit the SBK is almost always the most accurate bullet in all my varmint rifles.

Now if Sierra could just align their price of varmint bullets with the others, they'd sell more and make us all happy in the process. Here's hoping....

Not that I am a cheap guy but those Sierras cost .58/piece up here! I have actually started buying Speer TNT because I can get them for 19-21 cents. Nosler Varmageddons are .61!

I see that on paper they look better than the 32gr but want to see if that translates to much in the real world out at 100-300yards before buying.

So why don't you split the difference and shoot the Varmint nightmare x-treme 34 grain. .16 a piece and they shoot just as good as their 17 cal nightmares. My 20 tac is shooting them just as good or better than the 32 grain Nosler varmageddons.
