20 Vartag

Matt if Leupold still does this, at least add the Verticle. Rick turned me on to these many years ago. I've done done 8 or 9+. They even added the M-1's to an old one inch fixed 12X test scope that's been on over 50 rifles. It's even more rock solid with the new turrets.
I've been told the Leupold Custom Shop no longer does all these mods. Not sure if it's true or not, but if anyone is in the mood for any custom reticle change, adding target or M1 turrets, best to call Leupold and ask if those services are still available.

I'm not even sure if their Custom Shop still exists. If not, it's a real shame. If someone knows and finds out, be sure to post it. I've texted my Leupold guy and will report back when I know anything.

Late Edit: Just heard back from my friend. The Custom Shop closed down several years ago. Not aware of the reason. :(

Rick that's sad news, I hope their customer service hasn't slipped. Thanks for the update.

Was afraid of that, thanks for following up Rick. That makes missing that scope on 6mmbr.com sting even more. It also makes me appreciate the Leupolds I do have. It also proves to me that I shouldn't put off things I think of as well.

Since we are talking Vartarg, is there any crimp dies available? I haven’t seen any online with a quick google search.
I'm with Sherm, why would you want to crimp a 20VT?
The typical bullets used do not have a crimping groove, I can't think of anyone I know who crimps their bolt gun rifle cases.
With the mild to no recoil, there's zero chance of bullet setback from recoil, and why work the necks of your brass by crimping? The brass is difficult to make, expensive and not really readily available. Crimping overworks the necks and shortens the life of the brass.

Just seems like a bad idea, and ask why you want to?

But if crimping a rifle cartridge is your thing, I'm sure Lee offers crimp dies. Not sure if the 20VT would be available though.

I have started lightly crimping all my ammo in the last year. Another friend that reloads intensively figures he gets better SD and EC numbers with a light crimp. Previously I have only crimped my semi and lever ammo.
