Anyone collect .22 calibers?

Curious to know if anyone here "collects" .22 calibers. I'm not sure why, buy I have an interest in adding to my .22 collection. Currently have .22 airgun, .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .223 Remington.

I'd like to add .22 Hornet, .222 Remington, .22-250 and possibly one or more of the newer .22 centerfires (like the .22 ARC).

Since I don't handload, I'd be left to only factory ammo.

From there my research suggests that new rifles in .22 Hornet and .222 are "rare" to find any manufacturers producing them (especially in my budget ie. not custom work) so I'd probably have to buy used, right?

I'm not particularly drawn to any specific rifle -- just the caliber (at the moment).

Which .22 caliber would you choose as your next one to add to your collection?

Scott, from 40 years of experience with the caliber, you absolutely "need" a 221 Fireball, or as I refer to mine as the "Furball" for your 22 caliber collection.

I have one in a M38 Cooper Phoenix, another one on a CZ 527 American. That one shoots like a HB varmint rifle even though it wears a 'sporter' weight barrel.

Great little .224" caliber, accurate, and only burns 18~grs of powder using 40gr bullets for work inside 400 yards. Mine gets used extensively on ground squirrels off the bench, and for rockchucks out in the sage and junipers.

Sounds like a great handloader's cartridge. It's pretty cool that it's based off the .222

I guess I kind of collect some. I have 22lr , 22 win mag , 22 Hornet, 22 K Hornet, 221 Fireball, 223, 223 AI, 22 Grendel, 22-250, and 22 Creedmoor.
This is what I'm talking about! What an awesome collection. Any one of them a particular favorite?

I don't think any one is a particular favorite cartridge. I'm sure I've shot the 22lr the most but I like them all for different reasons or applications .
