BIG bore Wildcats: Anyone??

One early morning I found a 30 gal can of .223LC brass at the range.
Being on the OLD Ammo Brass Trader Board. I swapped many large boxes
of that brass for things I needed worse.
A new .35Cal Douglas blank. Rem never made a .35 cal. RUM.
Bryce Towsley did. So I did too,
26" 1917 Enfield. 250gr 99.0gr 7828 = 3250fps along with one hell of a blast!
Recoil to match

I made a wildcat i call the 401K.
It's a 7.62x39 blown out and necked up to .40 cal.
Was wanting it in a AR platform but having issues with it feeding from a mag. Right now I've got it in a Savage 12 bolt action.
Shoots pretty good but haven't got to really working up a good load.
It needs longer bullets to assist in feeding from mags.
I also just got my dies aboot 3 months ago after a 2 year wait.

My elk hunting rifle is a pre-'64 M70 Winchester that wears a .338-06 Ackley barrel. So far, five bulls down, all one-shot kills with the Nosler 210gr Partition. Great for the black timber, and no slouch at 300+ yards either.

Chic Donnelley of Syskiyou Gunworks did the barrel and fitting. He was P.O. Ackley's close friend and apprintice prior to Parker's passing. His shop still has Ackley's barrel making equipment in Grants Pass, OR.
