Last week end I finally tried my hand at 17 cal cast bullets. It's been a long since I cast anything so I'm rusty. My results were less than I expected. One big problem was trying to hold a bullet for inspection. My fingers always were in the way. Then I remember seeing those digital scopes. I ordered one with a 10 inch screen, most were 4 and 7 inch. I got mine 2 days later. What a difference, I could actually see the details in the bullets. The focal plane is shallow so I used a V-Block to hold the bullet steady and used a scribe to rotate the bullet. The sides of the V-Block reflected light so it gave me great steady view. Then there was the pleasure of seating gas checks!!!!! Guys a 20 gr VMax at about 23 cents each is a bargain.
