He's home and is in recovery mode with a 3 month recovery timeframe
Some of the standard things that come with a heart attack are not being able to drive for about 4 weeks and all the pills they give you.
Wishing Eric a full recovery and a quick return to his passion of shooting.

Hey all. It's been three weeks since my triple bypass surgery, so I thought this would be a good time for an update.
Everything with recovery is going well. I'm sticking to the doctor's orders, eating better and getting my walks in, despite the recent turn in weather here in Idaho. I'm averaging 1.5 miles a day on my walks. I am trying to build up even more, but I definitely feel it when I push too hard. Daily household tasks are getting easier as well.
Next steps I have coming up are an appointment with my surgeon's office to have any leftover stitches removed and to go over my progress. After I am cleared by them, I will begin rehab. I'm not 100% sure what that will entail, because I will still be limited to the no pushing/pulling/lifting over 10 lbs rule. I'm hoping this will also be the time I am cleared to drive. I stopped all pain narcotics weeks ago, so there are no concerns there. I will also find out about shooting, but based on what I was told, that's still a long way off.
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes. I have had a lot of folks calling and messaging, but I'm still having difficulties remembering basic words, communicating, etc, so I am limiting interactions to save myself the frustration. It is getting a lot better, but I've been told that being under anesthesia for the time I was can really mess with basic stuff like memory and speaking for a while.
Lastly, I am repeating myself by saying this, but I'm going to keep saying it. Take care of your health, listen to your doctors and eat/drink well. Having a heart attack and subsequent surgery is not fun and should be avoidable if you do the right things!

Eric, I'm thrilled to hear your recovery is progressing well and will be interested in hearing what your surgeons office says about your progress.

Eric, you have no idea how happy I was reading that you're back and recovering from surgery. As a recipient of 35 surgeries (Vietnam and "other stuff"), I know well the after effects of surgery, anesthesia and all it entails. And you're right; listen to the docs and adhere to all their advice for recovery.
Keep us posted here, and I'm sure we all agree that everyone here sincerely cares about you and wish you the very best in terms of recovery and long life.

Eric is a very smart fella! One of the very smart things he did was move from rotten California to wonderful Idaho.

Now Cali is known as the "U-Haul State". Glad I left to never return in 1975.
For many years we shot squirrels in N. CA, but now we won't even go down there any more; lead bullet ban, stupid gas prices, they don't recognize our CC licenses so can't legally carry there. The place now to us is non persona grata.
The commies can have it, as they're running it now anyway.
