Howa Mini actions are great platforms to built on. I shoot a 224 Grendel on a mini action and absolutely love it.I have a fondness for the Howa mini, I have built a 222 Remington, 221 Fireball with CZ mag conversion , 17 Fireball with CZ mag conversion , and now a 20 Vartarg that uses the stock Howa 223 mag just fine
If I could get that bolt face in a howa mine, I’d build one.I wonder if the Howa mini could be made to shoot the 5.7x28. That would be a fun configuration.
Bush the boltfaceIf I could get that bolt face in a howa mine, I’d build one.
Bolt face is just the beginning down that rabbit hole. No mags exist for 5.7x28 for a howa mini, those would be a major project alone.Bush the boltface
Jefferson outdoors no longer makes the CZ mag conversion for the howa mini. They also never made a conversion fo cz 22/17 hornet mags, only 223Foxhunter had a cz527 done up in 17 velociraptor, 17-5.7x28. Think they used 22 hornet mags if I remember correctly. Isn't there a conversion for the mini to use cz mags?
The only way I can see it working would be to 3D print a mag and follower, positioning and springs would be trial and error.Gotcha. It would be a lot of work then.
Do the 221 Fb and Vartarg both feed okay from a 223 magazine?I have a fondness for the Howa mini, I have built a 222 Remington, 221 Fireball with CZ mag conversion , 17 Fireball with CZ mag conversion , and now a 20 Vartarg that uses the stock Howa 223 mag just fine
Yes they do, as good as the CZ magDo the 221 Fb and Vartarg both feed okay from a 223 magazine?
Thanks, Ken.
