Show us your .22 Hornets...

The Hornet.....it's come a long way baby!
My first two Hornets did not impress. However once I 'discovered' the K-Hornet, things changed.
A Kimber M82 Hornet shot well for a Hornet, but a friend just had to have it and I could not resist his offer.
An Anschutz came along in K-Hornet, but would not feed well from the magazine. Traded it off. But I still remember one day when it accounted for 22 rockchucks off one rock pile that was just over 100' long. A day to remember.

The "answer" for me was a K-Hornet single shot, and when the Winchester Low Wall Hornet (Miruko) became available, I immediately bought one and had it chambered to K-Hornet by my local smith.....I've never looked back.

My long time association with Nosler has resulted in a stash of their old 45gr Solid Base Hornet bullet, which shoots quite well in my rifle. It's accounted for beaucoup rockchucks and ground squirrels here as my casual walkabout rifle in the rat patch. That bullet, unfortunately has been long discontinued, so I shoot my stash on a reserved basis.

There's just something about a nice little Hornet rifle that can't be put into words. They're usually nice little light rifles, no recoil or blast, and are a pure joy to carry and shoot. I'll always have one for the pure pleasure they give, and for work inside of 250 yards, they sure do shine. :)

A long time ago I looked at a low wall 22 hornet in a tiny gun shop. Wish I had the money to buy it at the time. Wasnt in the cards for me then.

I have a few 22 hornets. A couple Brownings in left and right hand. Nothing special. The right hand Browning is a better shooter for some reason. Would like to find a couple more magazines for those. I really like shooting the right hand Browning. Both are straight wall hornets.

I also have this Martini Henry cadet in 22K hornet, I bought it and it was in rough shape. I had it restocked, the barrel reblued and the buttplate and lever case hardened. I need to find a way to scope it. It came with a 3/8” dovetail base that was in bad shape. I would like to find new bases for it to take standard rings. Who are our resident Martini experts on here?

Who did the restocking? The lines are simply beautiful.

I’m not a pic poster, I’m technology challenged. Some would say lazy.
But I do like my 22 hornets.
I started with two different Ruger 77 hornets and a Ruger #1B 22 hornet. Accuracy on all of these was a tad better than dismal.
Then in the early 90s I acquired a heavy barrel Anschutz 1730. It’s killed a LOT of PDs. I added a 1730 sporter, that’s killed a few coyotes. Both are very accurate.
More recently a Winchester 1885 single shot, a beautiful rifle. Have not yet shot it a lot, but it’s accurate and has accounted for one coyote.
And most recently a Kimber 82 Super America in 22 K hornet. It’s a beautiful rifle that’s is also very accurate and has killed a single coyote.
What a fun cartridge!

dale06, in regard to posting a pic here, you can go to a photo on your computer, right click 'copy', then insert it in your post by right clicking 'paste'. You can then enlarge or reduce the size by clicking on the upper LH corner of the pic and drag to the desired size. You can also use the little window in the lower LH corner of the window here and just attach the pic to your post.

Of course you can also use a photo hosting site, but easy is usually always better. I grabbed the pic below from my gallery on my desktop just for illustration. It was just a "copy" then "paste".

Rick there is a problem with your process of pasting photos into posts, it seems to insert negatives as that tabletop is back to front compared to mine and your bolt handle is on the wrong side😎
