Small Caliber Defined?

I had a Ruger 77 RST .25-06 that I traded on my first Sako. The AI .17 rem that I still own. 85 gr Ballistic tips were the bullet of choice. Ca. 1990.

I pulled the stock last night. Prior owner knew what to do. Barreled action coated or parkerized. Pristine bedding/pillar bedding, 3 flush cup swivel inserts, trigger job- it breaks at 30 oz. Adj. screws sealed with ? I hope he built this around a proven shooter. I’ll find out in coming weeks.

The wife says that it's almost her shade of fingernail polish. 😉😇
(edit: I prefer clear fingernail polish.😇)

…and it’s free floated!

I’m resizing the 50-35 year old brass I had for my first rifle i ever purchased. 1976 M-77 .270 and .25-06 brass i had for my other Ruger 77. I had it all squeezed down, but a lot of it was partial neck sized. They’re a little swole for my tight chambered Sako and .010” too long. I still hate trimming brass. 50 years of hate.

I agree small bore ends somewhere around .243-.257. I don't really consider a .257 Weatherby a small-bore, but I definitely consider J. Rabbeth's 1882 design, the .25-20 Single Shot, to be a small bore. Stevens also had some dandy little .25s back in the golden age of Schuetzen.
