My Savage A17 Sporter .17 WSM had to take another trip to Savage for problems. Rifle has returned and I am happy with the results.

I ordered a Timney trigger for my Ruger 5.56 rifle yesterday.

I haven't had many Timney triggers, I have heard good things but what are they like?

I have heard nothing but good things about them. I am still waiting for it to arrive.

When I couldn't find a Jewel trigger for one of my Sako's, and finding a Canjar single set trigger was like looking for chicken lips, I installed a Timney and adjusted it to right at 1 lb. It installed easily, adjustment was also no bother, and it passes the bolt-slam test with no discharge.
Since then I've put them in two other rifles and find them to be completely reliable and well made. Another excellent option is the Jard triggers. I've got four of them in my Cooper rifles, all set at 10 ozs, as they're only for my bench guns used for live varmint shooting.

I like the Timney triggers for old military rifles I've converted to hunting rifles. The flip lever safety is really nice in place of the original bolt safety.

I've seen photos of a Brno 465, which had the double set trigger, where the double set trigger had been removed and a Mauser 98 Timney trigger fitted

I had to send the Savage A 17 Sporter .17WSM back to Savage again. It turned out worse than when I sent it the first time but the second return turned out great.
They even added a very nice rail mount.
In the second return box to them I added a note with a $20 bill, thanking anyone that could fix my rifle and lunch was on me. I imagine it quickly got someone's attention. That was the best $20 I have spent for a long time! I really love the rifle. Squirrel moved while I was taking my usual head shot.

My Savage A17 had to go back to Savage and it was returned in fine order with a new scope rail on it. So far is is working like it should and I have sighted it in. I am having a trigger job done on it and the barrel threaded for my silencer. The trigger isn't bad but certainly needs improvement.

My Savage A17 .17 WSM had to visit Savage again. During a sight-in, it was a disaster. The rifle quit working and was sent back.

Thank you, Bulleye69. So far it is running smooth and yeah on a lot of travel miles and a lot of down time.
I use my .17 WSM rifles for small game and an occasional varmint that happens along. The rifle does a total smackdown on varmints. My HMR rifle is super accurate but not cut out for large varmints.
