Introduce Yourself Here

My name is Matt Smith and I remember the first time I found Saubiers, that feeling has returned and I am reminded of all the reasons I love small calibers. Glad to be here and currently looking for my 20BR neck turned brass, I know it's here somewhere. I've moved twice in the last 5 years and really need to get organized. Some of you may remember that 20 BR accounted for three pds in a row past 500 yards with the 39SBK. I need to call MontDoug and tell him about this new site. Thanks Aaron for reminding me about this site.

Hello.
My handle is Stinkdog some call me Nath and I know I'm in real trouble if I get a harsh Nathan !
Anyway, a keen hunter and shot all my life.
A truck full of airguns has passed through my hands, a drum full of 22's, hornets, 222's, 243's, a wheelbarrow full of 3030's and a single 6.5x55.
Had some fun.
Best wishes and thank you 🙏

Stink.

I wonder if Rick from Oregon (RIO) is still shooting?
If he is he’s probably on some other American boards but I’m not on any others so don’t know.
Ken.
I let Rick know about the forum and got a msg from him that he is having trouble getting the confirmation email @Eric M
Also he asked how you add an avatar.

I too had trouble with a message repeatedly asking me to confirm.
In the end, just left it and went to bed and next day it wax done.
Similar to George.

Hi All. Scott from the North East USA. Have a small homestead and small flock of chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Keeping critters at bay with .177 and .22 air guns, .22 LR, .22 WMR, .223 Rem. (however, on the larger size also have 12 gauge shotgun and .50 cal muzzleloader). As of right now my favorite is .22 WMR, but all the others are close seconds. It's nice to see this forum and hope to see lots of interesting discussions.

Hi all!
I see many names I recognize here from long ago. The GGVG board, Saubier, Accurate Shooter, 204um and some others.
I'm here now, and want to give thanks to Eric for his foresight in creating this forum, as we all miss Saubier and all the great info it contained.
I usually don't list my full name on the net for reasons we're all familiar with, but for the record, I'm Rick Vecqueray, inventor and producer of the BR Pivot and BRP Lite, lifetime shooter, varmint shooting nut, former military (RVN Vet), former LEO, now retired and lovin' it.

Good to be here amongst friends I recognize and some new ones I don't.

Howdy Rick,
Great to be in touch again. 👍🙂

New members, please introduce yourself in this thread!
My name is Fred Baker, I live in NE Ohio and also the Black Hills of South Dakota, I'm back and forth. I meet Todd Kindler around 35-40 years ago before he became famous in the small caliber world. I shoot 14, 17, 19, and 20 calibers as well as the bigger calibers, but I really like my smaller calibers the best, especially with the price of powder now adays. I shoot from the bench quit a bit, but spend time in the dog towns when I'm in South Dakota.

Great to have you here Rick, thank you for inventing and producing the BR pivot, I'm not sure how far they travelled but there is one here in New Zealand.

sav12lrpv. My name is Tom, live in Southern Minnesota. Don't shoot much anymore but still have some interest. My savage has interchangeable barrels, 20ppc and 20vartarg. Also have a custom 20ppc, BAT action, Bartlein, jewel, all the good stuff. Maybe the next owner is on this site. Miss Saubier.

Not Olmstead county, Minnesota, by any chance?

Name is Doug, live in Bend, Oregon. Started shooting at 9, after doing a VFW Hunters Safety course with my dad, and I won the match at the end of the course. Been a shooter ever since. Thankfully started reloading and finding out about various calibers around 2013. Since then, was introduced to sage rat shooting a number of years ago, and DANG! Now I'm addicted to it, and the small calibers that make skippy go flying. Rat-O-Batics.

First dedicated sage rat caliber was the Savage B-mag in 17 WSM. First intro into a wildcat was the 20 Practical, which is a really easy starter. Now, with help from Rick in Oregon, I am a dedicated 20 Vartarg fan, must admit. My CZ 17 Hornet holds a special place in my heart, as one of the most accurate guns I load for, about the same as the 20VT. I was able to find a lot of great loading info on Saubier and Accurate Shooter, and am glad to join here as well!

Howdy fellow enthusiasts!

Like many others, I too have frequented several shooting forums over the years while looking to add to my small caliber knowledge. I now shoot 17s (Anschutz and Savage), 204s (Cooper, Kimber and CZ), 22s (Volquartsen/KIDD, Remmy), 223s (Cooper, Rock River) and occasionally 243 (my trusty Remmy). While my health allows, I still pursue larger game with bigger calibers to refill my freezer and help stave off starvation. ;) However, in recent years I find myself gravitating more towards the pursuit of smaller game with smaller calibers. There are probably a number of reasons for this, but we'll leave that lengthy discussion for another time and another place - possibly accompanied by some adult beverages.

I am an avid shooter, a US Navy veteran, and now a happily retired grandparent living in "The Last Best Place" (MT) and spend a great deal of time in the great outdoors. My name is Paul Koehler, and I look forward to the camaraderie. BTW - Thanks to Eric for creating this forum. (y)

Paul I am pretty much the same...an aging Montanan who no longer cares to climb the mountain, slay the mighty wapiti and haul him back down.99% of my shooting now involves varmints and small rifles that don't kick!
