Savage 284 Winchester

I've been wanting a 284 Winchester in something other than my Grandfathers Winchester Model 100. It shoots well but brass is launched and you end up losing some.
You can't load them long either. And I want it threaded for a moderator.

So, I found a large shank, SA Savage that will be my doner gun. I've got one barrel already for it and one on order.
One barrel is a Douglass XX premium SS ,1-10 twist in a #3 sporter contour. The other, on order, is a McGowen SS 1-8.5 twist in a #5 sporter contour. Of course, I find the 1-10 twist barrel after I ordered the 1-8.5 twist.

Now I'm not sure what barrel I should build first. I have my reamer and head space gauges so I'm not waiting on those. I got brass, dies and boolits ,only thing lacking is the 8.5 twist barrel.
I don't have a stock yet but looking for suggestions. I do like Boyd stocks, but I want something more tactical, I think.

Any ideas suggestions?
