The CZ 527 thread

So sorry I missed the boat on the CZ527s. Every time I hear about them they are reported as incredible shooters. At least I was smart enough to get a 452 Varmint in17hmr. I'm also sad CZ never felt inclined to make a 17WSM either. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking, perhaps it was how to pay bills and raise a family and afford the best hobby ever all at the same time. I so wish CZ would make small calibers great again 😉

I'm relatively new to the CZ527 fraternity having only recently acquired two, an American and a Varmint, both housed in walnut stocks, and both chambered in 204R. They are now being readied for the upcoming varmint thinning season with barrel threading, optics mounting, and then determining which ammunition loads each prefers. Will I be so lucky that they both land on the same round? I can only hope...🤞

Another happy CZ 527 shooter here.
Mine (221FB) is rather mundane compared to some I see here, but she shoots almost as good as my Cooper 221FB Varmint which has a HB compared to the CZ American sporter-weight barrel.

She now wears a tear-drop bolt knob vs the 'tactical' one shown. When out for rockchucks, I don't feel very 'tactical'. ;)

The beauty is that the CZ shoots the exact same load of RL-7 and the 40gr Nosler BT or Vgdn as my Cooper....win-win for me! Not so much for the rockchucks though. I sure wish I had snagged at least one more of these underrated little gems while they were still available. Why companies remove such highly thought of models from their line always makes me wonder WTF were they thinking?

Would really look tactical with a moderator on the end! 😉

Here's the reason I wish I had snagged another 527 when they were available.
This target was shot with my CZ 527 American with it's skinny sporter-weight barrel. To me, that's purty good accuracy from a 'sporter' model rifle, as it approaches the accuracy level of my HB dedicated varmint rigs.

Again, I wonder what CZ management was thinking when they axed the 527....WTF?

My Cz 527 in 221 shoots pretty well too. Just wish they made them in a heavy barrel. I definitely enjoy shooting it.
