Who’s got a favourite 53 gr vmax load

Decided to mess with some 223 loading. I have some 53 gr Vmax on the shelf and thought I would try. Using Win brass, CCI 400 primers. 27-28 gr of CFE223 and some 53 gr vmax loaded out to 2.25”. Going to try it in an older 700 VS. Will try some 50 gr SPSX as well as I haven’t shot those either,

What powders do you like with 53 gr vmax?

My 223 didn't like the 53gr. Best group was 2.5 inches. However, it loves 60gr. .5" group at 100 yds. Now my Howa 1500 in 22-250 absolutely loves 53gr. V-max.

My XP-100 and my Ruger#1V love the 53vmax and H335. Most 223s are at least a 12 twist which is exactly what the 53 needs and perhaps most ARs are faster twists which shouldn't hurt, but you never know till you try I guess. ACC im wondering if your older VS is a 14?? I have a newer .223VS and it's a 12 twist. It was purchased as a builder/donor so the .233 barrel hasn't been fired yet but it will definitely get used eventually perhaps even turned into an Ackley. The 53 Vmax is a great bullet and definitely worth tuning as long as you have a 12 twist.

I haven’t tried the 53 in any ARs, just this 223. I am cleaning it today and will measure the twist rate. Going back through some old targets from last year when I received this rifle, I had a group using 25.0 gr of H335 that looked promising. Four shots into 0.34” and one flier that opened it up to an inch. That was in March with minus weather too. I should revisit that load. Most of my load development is around this time of year so sometimes I wonder how much that comes into play. I have a few other 223 bolt guns I could try it in as well.
