Winchester 1885 - .219 Zipper Improved - Update

Can't say, but that's a reasonable explanation. I shoot the 40's in my No.1V for the speed, as it's like a laser on the rats out to around 300 yards.
"If it ain't broke......"
It definitely isn't broke!

..... I probably would've pulled the 6th shot in that fine group. 😖

What twist rate is the barrel?

I have a 10" octagon barrel in 5mm and have shot Aquila as well as the Craig reloadable rounds. Have always wanted a 14" bull barrel too. Wondering if the new owners of TC might consider making them. Probably not much call, but if they have the tooling...
Matt
I know MGM will make it for you.
Ive got the reamer and gauges for the 5mm.
I had mine made to 24" by Bullberry Legacy.

Ive heard MGM might still have that reamer and have to decide on going pistol or rifle next time. Bullberry made my 15" 17AH and it shoots very well. The chamber was very nicely done with a well fitted reamer and in hindsight I wish I had gotten a rifle done with that reamer too, perhaps a Cooper 38 or a Ruger#1.I miss Fred.

Maybe I got lucky with my Ruger No.1V. Bought from a neighbor who said "it just doesn't shoot". He was not a handloader, but after the trigger replacement, floating the barrel forend and glassing and a pet load, it turned into a dandy shooting varmint rig. Of course I only shoot my handloads in it, as it's never seen a factory round since coming to me.

A couple thousand ground squirrels and more than a few rockchucks can't be wrong! Some No.1's DO shoot! ;)
I'm impressed.
