E.R Shaw barrels

Does anyone have any experience with E.R Shaw barrels? I've looked online and reviews range from very good , to less than steller, but I've never actually spoke with anyone who has actually used one of their barrels.
Any insight would be appreciated 🙏

I only have a 'sample of one' in dealing with them.Their shipping was not nearly as quick as they advertise, and I was flat out lied to about the shipping date. Twice. The barrel was a mag contour chambered in .222 with a 9 twist. Accuracy was acceptable but barely. It would shoot an inch, but Im used to .222s that'll shoot half that.It has been unscrewed and discarded.... I've been getting barrels elsewhere ever since.

Yeah, I've read a few stories about long lead times, extra long ship times, and it seems that ( aside from a few stories), they tend to hover around 1 MOA accuracy.

I have great experience with preferred barrel in Utah, I have several and all shoot great
Preferred barrel is owned by MGM so your gonna get a good barrel.
And if you want a blued barrel they do that work too.

I did order a 30-06 barrel from them and there was a issue where they lost the order and didn't make the barrel for me. The guy that I was having the barrel made for then changed his mind to sell the gun and not rebarrel it.
They returned the money no problem.

The other barrel company i use is x-caliber. They've made me a few barrels and the all shoot very well.

I have owned a couple MGM Contender barrels, and an Encore barrel. The Contender barrels were great. The Encore barrel, not so much. It was a 22-250 barrel, and had a very rough chamber. They eventually made it right, but it took a lot of emails, and phone calls to get them to concede that they were at fault. This was many years ago shortly after Virgin Valley went out of business, and MGM took over

I had to go to MGM when Bullberry and Bullberry Legacy went out of business.
So far everything has been excellent.

Like I said, the only failure I had was with an Encore 22-250 with a rough chamber ... That said, this was in the very early days of MGM, and the issue could have been as simple as using a well worn chamber reamer they had sitting around from the Virgin Valley days

You aren't the only person to have issues with Bullberry/ Bullberry Legacy. Troy owes a lot of people, a lot of money.

Never had a Shaw barrel. I have quite a few from Shilen and lesser number from Lilja and Kreiger. They’re all very accurate. And Shilen delivers faster.

I ultimately ended up going with Shilen. It has proven to be an exceptionally accurate barrel

I am not a fan of the er Shawn
Used a few over the years
For budget builds
we go with Wilson barrels from tagged hole
Outlier USA precision barrel not bad put 20 togather 5/8 moa or better on all
Preferred Barrel Blanks ok not my favorite
Brux is giving you a killer deal now days
Lilja is one of my go to
Proof for Carbonfiber
Magowe not bad

The one I don't like any more after 30 years
Shillen are grate barrels we don't buy them over fluting problems than can flute we can't they will not stand behind it

Bartlein Barrels grate barrel over 30 cal for every one. Under 30 call the normal joe blow take a back seat to big name guys. Most of my problems over the years come right hear .
Wen good there grate
Went ther dogs they tell you to pound sand after spending 100 of rounds on brake in and relapping .multiple guys have this happen to them

All of them make good barrel now days it's taking care me and you wen there a problem that more important to me now day if I am willing to take a bath on the cost of gun smithing and redo one I like the barrel company that does the same we are in it togather there success leads to my success, my success leads to your success.

I’ve used many shilens, several Lilja and one Kreiger. All were excellent shooters. The gunsmith I used would not recommend Shaw barrels.
