Tree Squirrel Hunting

I was having problems with my A17 Sporter .17 WSM so I shipped it to the fine folks at Savage.

Two weeks later it was shipped to my front door and is in great operationg order. There was no charge for shipping or anything.

I removed the scope and sling before I sent it to Savage so I mounted the scope and sling back onto the rifle.

Tomorrow my brother is going with me to sight the rifle in and then we hope to pop some small game and varmints. He will be using my improved Savage BMAG .17 WSM. I replaced the ejector, bedded the stock and added 2 3/16"thickness and long threaded steel rods in the forearm to make it rock solid, and added a Glades bolt handle. I also replaced the shroud with the free update parts and centered the barrel in the forearm during the bedding. The reason for not restocking the rifle was because I wanted to keep it as a light carry. I am going to have to grind some off the Glades bolt handle to clear the scope. As of right now it contacts the scope when operating the bolt.
When I added the Glades bolt handle I had to grind the bolt slot deeper into the stock so the bolt would seat when it is in the closed position. If you add a Glades bolt handle to a BMAG, figure on doing some grinding in the bolt handle slot.
