I suppose the term "varmint pistol" has a wide range of definitions. Daily I carry a defensive handgun, usually one of my Kimber's. One of them is a Kimber CDP in .45ACP. But when in the outback shooting squirrels, I remove the .45 barrel/slide and put on either the 5" Target 22LR conversion or for IWB carry, the 3" Compact rimfire conversion.
Such was the case a while back while in rat camp shooting the chit with my buddies, the Kimber was in my Milt Sparks IWB rig when a jackwabbit tore through camp, almost running into us as we stared in amazement. The wabbit stopped at 52 paces away for that typical bunny 'look-back'. Fatal mistake. I rested my hands on the corner of my truck hood/fender and popped him with the first shot with a Winchester Power Point HP.

Not really what I'd normally term a 'varmint pistol', but it sure was that day.
