I definitely will try 25gr. bullets. I've got a 17 Hornet, and use 20 grainers in that one, and in a 20 Vartarg I use 32, so this one I figured would be good to use 25. I've got some Berger varmint and also the discontinued Hornady 25 HP I'm looking to try.
I think the .17VHA, now the .17JAV (John Anderson Varminter) is at the top of my list for efficiency. I'm shooting 20 grain VMax at close to 3700fps with about 9-10 grains of powder. I wish the 4.6x30mm brass was still readily available.

17 AH by far - 12.2 gr of 1680 with 20 gr Vmax. Brass last forever also. Have 2 Coopers in that cal. Think Ian (kiwishooter) put a few rounds through one of them when he stopped for visit.

Jim was kind enough to let me use one of the twins in 17AH, if it had been left handed he wouldn't have got it back after putting it in my hands, I would've even traded my Bat for that sweet rifle if it was left handed
I'm a dedicated prairie dog shooter. My dad introduced me to the sport when I was 7 years old and I am now 75. I don't even know if I can remember all of the caliber and cartridge combos I've tried over those years. Fast and flat is your best friend in the prairie dog towns! Efficiency to me has to include enough speed to offer a flat trajectory. I would vote for the 17FB.
